SCUMBAG PHOTOGRAPHERS/AGENTS/PRODUCERS

I heard some really fascinating news recently on our beloved industry of creatives and the agents whom push us. I am always on the inside scoop and dying to dish out. A blog needs to be started so everyone can add there inside editions that we all know about but seem to be too scared or nervous to say anything... Any ideas or if anyone knows of any good blogs let me know. Our industry is going down the fucking drain FAST. Agents are dropping off the face of the earth, taking millions of talents money with them. In the meantime photographers and producers and stabbing eachother in the back to make a buck. I have heard of a HUGE agency slashing prices to below 1000 a day for the photog just to get a job or how about all these assholes who will give a free day with studio and the rest just to get a client. I think it's about time for us all to tell them to go fuck themselves and man up and don't be a pussy. You are lowering out industry and soon the average dayrate will be 800 down from $8000. So if you hear of any of these people and I know who a lot of them are. Let's out them and get them the fuck out of photography. This depression is hard enough without having to worry about these scumbags.

Word!

always the best intentions

back in the city, been gone for 10 days and not a moment to spare
for an update. I always have the best intentions to update constantly especially while on the road, but you know you shoot all day, go back to the hotel, drop off the gear and hit the bar with clients, friends, agents, ect. Than you find yourself eating around 9pm and by the time you get back to the hotel it's midnight and you have a 6am call time. Where do I find the time to do anything. I vow to add more time to my day, which I have been working on.

Virgin America to LA

I have to say that Virgin America is hands down my favorite airlines in America. It can't be beaten. The rest of the airlines in the US fall short of the service, attitude and comfort of Virgin.

METALLICA!!!

Tickets for Christmas to see Metallica in New Jersey..
Beer, Jim Beam from a flask and Metallica.

GREAT NIGHT!!

While the economy is in the stinker and everything I make goes to the IRS, I have been having a great time shooting this year. I have had some really exciting assignments, but really I have been true to my craft and been staying on course. The photographs have been amazing, more people are seeing my work, becoming more global. Wow.. kinda cool. But in the end for me it's all about photography and exposing myself to those whom see my work.
I never go into specifics of whom I shot for and I probably never will. I don't brag about whom I shoot and whom I work for because it's just that bragging and I have no room for it. Like I said it's all about the photographs.

here a few recents.

a campaign coming out soon.. billboard material..

behind the scenes

I will never show my lighting or my style to you , but here is a little behind the scenes.. I got all prop/set guy out and built this masterpiece with the help of my lazy assistant.

Jan 09

On Jan 4th I left for a 5 weeks of back to back jobs, which I am in the middle of
at the moment. I thought I would take a minute and blog.
Off to San Diego for a week, than back in the city for a week, than off to Miami for a week, than back to NYC for a week and LA for a week, than back to NYC and than Miami again.
It's great to be busy, shooting editorial, shooting money jobs. I am very thankful everyday that I don't have to wait in line at the soup kitchen for food.

a few screen shots from the computer and a nice portrait of me.

Happy New Year 26 days late......

2009 is here in full force. Freezing in NYC, the heat is not working. I am wearing a jacket and gloves inside the house, typing my cold thoughts while thinking of being on a sailboat in the Bahamas or anyplace tropical and warm with cool blue waters.aahhh.

Back to reality. Obama is our Leader! thanks god!! Changes taking place daily. I read the news like a drunk craving alcohol. I want to be apart of my vote.
The economy is shit, my industry is being POUNDED! Everyone is out of work or freaking out. The massive photogs are bottom feeding. The newbies' are plugging away, they are poor and they have no overhead so shooting for peanuts is cool and paying to shoot editorial is just part of the game we play. magazines are folding, retails stores are closing, ad agencies are laying off. I am not painting a bleak picture, just stating the facts. I have friends in all aspects of the photo world. Everyone is feeling the crush. Than on top of it, the people that hire us are wanting clean images that are SAFE!
So when you want to pay the rent you gotta be safe. Easier said than done for those uf us who are a bit more creative and our style shows it.

Blah blah blah...just off the phone with an editor I am shooting with on Thursday. He was just saying how this will be a huge weeding out process, a change of the industry,
perhaps forever. he said he may have to find a new source of income and leave the industry he has been in for 2 decades.

ON ANOTHER NOTE--

Positivity! I feel like having Obama in office has given me a positive outlook on America for the first in my life. His drive to the top has inspired me!! I see the economy and the financial downturn, but I know there is still money to be made. If you can make it now, you can make it anytime.

tis the holidays

spent the past couple weeks doing an end of year clean up. Getting the clutter out and putting some new paint on the walls. Shredding paperwork and working on the taxes. Things that I never want to do...
In the middle of all this I had 3 shoots, we had a snowstorm, went to the Metropolitan Opera and saw La Bohéme, shopped for Christmas and made some cookies...

Some photographic Highlights below.ohhhhhh while organizing I found my Polaroid "Big Shot", the Andy Warhol camera. I have been shooting with it.. I will post some of those as soon as I scan them..

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

OBAMA WINS!!!

MY VOTE COUNTED!!! OBAMA WON!!!

THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE.. CHANGE IS COMING AND AMERICA WILL BE GREAT ONCE AGAIN

WITH A TRUE VISIONARY FOR A LEADER!!!

Last night when the electoral votes passed 270 the streets of Harlem where I live erupted
with an electricity that I have never felt before... I stuck my head out of our windows and all you could hear was screaming and cheering. I put on my shoes and ran down to 125th st with my friends. As soon as we left the building the sound of happiness took over the night. People were in their pajamas in the streets dancing and singing songs of jubilation. Everywhere screaming, chanting "OBAMA OBAMA". "Obama won", "he did it" " we did it" Emotions running wild in a way I have never in my life witnessed. My words will never do justice to what I experienced or saw last night in Harlem.

It was like every NY sports team won championships on New Years Eve. A complete eruption of human spirit.

It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. We are so HAPPY today!!!
